Advantages And Disadvantyages Of Functional Leadership - 1100 Words

Advantages And Disadvantyages Of Functional Leadership (Research Paper Sample) Content: FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIPNameCourseDateFunctional LeadershipFunctional leadership is whereby a people who can lead specialize in that management and lead functional groups. This is the most common method used in most of the companies and institutions. It is the simplest and also effective especially when the general managers are very much occupied. The functional leadership has a good and a wrong side of it. The following are some of its advantages and disadvantages. One of its strength is that employees are not required to report to multiple leaders during their work as there are functional leaders. This helps in saving a lot of time that is used to do another job in the company. Dealing with one manager also decreases the communication channels that is, the employees do not require to make a lot of calls or pass the information through many people to reach. The employee just reports to the functional manager directly and openly. Also, the functional leadership makes the operation faster especially in companies where there is a lot of employees who are working there. This enhances a good flow of the work and efficient thus the company grows at a very big rate. Functional leadership is a way of improving communication channels in the organization.Having functional leadership also makes the task of directing the work to appropriate employees easier. It is all because of having a direct manager. The functional manager has all the time to allocate the work to the people who have specialized on what the manager also has specialized. Human resource allocation is one of the critical activities that companies focus on; functional leadership has direct contact with the human capital hence it makes it easy for efficient distribution of employees. They also give recommendations when they have excess or fewer workers. It ensures that there is no doubling of assignment which makes the employees end up doing jobs that they are not supposed to do or the one that has been done by other people. This is avoided when the leadership is functional, and the employees have also been specialized. The functional leadership ensures a very good and healthy competition within an organization. The production of each worker can easily be monitored by functional leaders. This happens especially when it is a company that has many departments which have different managers. This competition arises when every manager wants to emerge as the best together with the employees. If its, for example, a school which has a department for discipline, the school came up with a group of leaders who will work under discipline department and will ensure that it is the best compared to others.Functional leadership also enables the leaders working functionally to come up with new ideas. Those leaders with the same experience and knowledge when working together they share expertise and come up with new skills and tactics. This enables the company or organizations that practice functional organization to grow and expand very fast compared to one without it. All this makes functional leadership look better and more preferable to exercise institutions and companies. Functional leadership also enhances efficiency in the work. When a group of leaders who have specialized in one thing is working together, the workflows very well and even the end product of the work is admirable. This is because of the teamwork and the similarity which enables them to accomplish more. It is the best idea to apply to a company or organization.Though the method of functional leadership has the advantages, it also has its disadvantages. They include the following when a company has a functional leader who assigns jobs to the employees directly meaning that there will be no interaction between the employees who have specialized in another area. This weakens the bond between the members of which its very bad as it can lead to the downfall of the company anytime. A particular group o f specialist finds themselves isolated thus breaking the common bond. Having functional leaders also brings out a lack of coordination where needed. Due to lack of communication, a particular functional group may fail and break down because the leaders do not have any way of communicating their needs and issues with each other. In some cases, you find that the managers if they have been informed of an individual problem from a certain functional group then dont take a quick response or they even fail to respond helpfully. All this is because they assume that its not their problem. This brings out a lot of delay such that, the time they are cooperating, the moment that cooperation could have worked out the best have already passed. This leads to a downfall.Functional leadership also leads to the rise of disputes in the organizations. This comes up most during the meetings of all the members. When the group leaders are presenting their grievances of may be the condition of their offic es and salary to the boss, they mobilize their people, and they all start rising against each other. It worsens when some g...

People should indeed have the choice, because after all, this is America- the land of the free. Education is displayed today as the only way a person is going to succeed in this world. To my surprise, the amount of universities have indeed increased an astonishing amount. There must be other ways that the society can have importance. I am truly amazed. Learning Self-Analysis Essay - 546 Words

I once thought of myself as a slow learner. My friends and acquaintances seemed to have knowledge and experiences unknown to me. I now realize I was a sheltered learner. My sensory input was limited. What I saw, read, heard, and even did, was limited to what my parents, teachers, preachers and even my spouse, thought I should experience. Reading, which once seemed restricted to school books, the Bible, and parenting books, became an adventure to a new life. I acquired new desires, dreams, goals and thoughts. The Trials of Immigration in America Essay - 1710 Words

America is a very proud country full of spirit and determination. I would dare say we have more pride in our country than people from most any other country in the world. The problem is there are people in other countries that try to corrupt and pollute our way of life. We call these people terrorists, but recently we have found out that these people are really immigrants. This country was founded and populated through immigration. What kind of terror can some simple immigrants cause? That is a great question, but when I bring up the words Mafia, Terror attacks, and Drug Cartels people finally wake up and start to take notice. America needs to take an isolationist stance with the rest of the world. In doing this we will show†¦show more content†¦These lazy methods of customs and government officials led America to have to suffer gangs, criminal violence, smuggling, and Mob warfare on their peaceful streets. From 1900 till the 1980’s you had Murder Inc., John Dillinger, Bugs Moran, Al Capone, John Gotti, and many other men that have made a mockery of our way of life. Some of the worst horrors this country has seen is due to relaxed immigration stances. The Spanish Flu epidemic, The Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre, and the two different attacks on the Twin Towers all created by undocumented immigrants. Nowadays we have illegal drug trades, human trafficking, and weapons smuggling to go along with our random terror attacks. I believe that this is a direct relation to the lack of effort done by our government. It started in 1980 with the Mariel Boat lift when President Jimmy Carter allowed hundreds of thousands of Cuban criminals, and mental patients into our boarders to show Cuba that we could be friends (Cuba, 2007). That led to the worst drug and criminal spree that Florida and Georgia had ever seen and inspired the movie Scarface. The real question is: what will Stefan say about that night at the motel with Damon? What would Stefan say? What was there to say? â€Å"I’m frightened,† she heard, and a minute too late, recognized her own voice. â€Å"Well, don’t think about it,† Damon said. â€Å"It’ll only make things worse.† But I’ve lied, Elena thought. You don’t even remember it, or you’d be lying, too. â€Å"Whatever happened, I promise I’ll still be around for you,† Damon said softly. â€Å"You’ve got my word on that, anyway.† Elena could feel his breath against her hair. â€Å"And on keeping your mind on the key?† Yes, yes, but I haven’t fed properly today. Elena started, then clasped Damon closer. For just an instant she’d felt, not merely a ravaging hunger, but a sharp pain that puzzled her. But now, before she could quite locate it in space, it was gone, and her connection to Damon had been abruptly cut off. Damon. â€Å"What?† Don’t shut me out. â€Å"I’m not. I’ve just said all there is to say, that’s all. You know I’ll be looking for the key.† Thank you. Elena tried again. But you can’t just starve – Who said I was starving? Now Damon’s telepathic connection was back, but something was missing. He was deliberately holding something back, and concentrating on assaulting her senses with something else – hunger. Elena could feel it rampaging in him, as if he were a tiger or wolf that had gone for days – for weeks – without making a kill. The room did a slow spin around her. â€Å"It’s†¦all right,† she whispered, amazed that Damon was able to stand and hold her at all, with his insides tearing at him that way. â€Å"Whatever†¦you need†¦take†¦Ã¢â‚¬ And then she felt the most gentle probing at her throat of razor-sharp teeth. She gave herself up to it, surrendering to the sensations. In preparation for the Silver Nightingale’s gala, where they would be searching for the first half of the double fox key to release Stefan, Meredith had been reading some of the hard copy she’d stuffed into her bag, from the huge amount of information she had downloaded from the Internet. She had done her best to describe everything that she’d learned to Elena and the others. But how could she be sure that she hadn’t missed some vital clue, some vastly important thread of information that would make all the difference tonight between success and failure? Between finding a way to save Stefan and coming home defeated, while he languished in prison. No, she thought, standing by a silvered mirror, almost afraid to look at the exotic beauty she had become. No, we can’t even think of the word failure. For the sake of Stefan’s life, we have to succeed. And we have to do it without getting caught. How to cite The Return: Shadow Souls Chapter 26, Essay examples

This being the situation, the voices of youngsters are basic in creating fruitful reactions to alcohol and other drug issues in Australia. This survey, numerous youngsters will likewise devour different unlawful substances in quest for a decent time. Notwithstanding their own decision to infringe upon the law, most would concur that they ought not to need to kick the bucket for it. In this article Martinus, John McAlaney, McLaughlin and Hilary Smith stated that, concern has been communicated all through Europe about the expanding danger of drug and alcohol related mischief to music celebration participants. Inquire about learns at music celebrations are moderately uncommon not slightest as a result of the effective advertisement intrigues included what's more, their hesitance to bolster examine that may draw in negative reputation. Accordingly, most UK studies have tended to concentrate on the move club scene and it is to this assortment of writing that the writers of this review looked first. Consistently, we catch wind of drug overdose and drug associated passings occurring at show celebrations. These calamities, and also the numerous wounds and captures, are frightful, groundbreaking and even life-finishing occasions. There are no encouraging statements for the families and companions of the individuals who never returned from their terrible outing. Hostile to drugs campaigners have communicated overwhelm after the police sponsored arrangements to enable celebration goers to tes t substances, for example, cocaine and bliss for immaculateness before taking them. The administration, which will be offered at a string of unrecorded music occasions this late spring, including the Reading and Leeds celebrations, is expected to distinguish conceivably unsafe drugs, with the goal that clients can settle on an educated decision. Celebration goers will have the capacity to take illicit drugs to a testing tent, where examiners from an association called The Loop, distinguish the fixings, before pulverizing the example (Evans, 2017). However as healing facility affirmations for happiness and MDMA utilize take off in Australia, distressing stories are neglecting to stop youngsters taking a chance with their lives. Negative experiences In this article The Conversation published in the year of 2016, Preventable death from harmed substances are a political decision. So why are our government officials so restricted to a proof based intercession that forestalls drug-related mischief? Australians are the main buyers of delight around the world. Indiscriminately preventing the nearness from claiming drugs at celebrations is credulous, besides philosophical resistance near mischief decrease finished medication testing is productive counter. We remain not contending aimed at the sanctioning otherwise decriminalization of medications. Or maybe, we trust youngsters ought to approach testing administrations as a way to engage educated decisions about drug utilization. Political initiative is the missing fixing. There is point of reference for a preventive wellbeing way to deal with safe drug utilize. Political sustenance has qualified drug testing to be in an old area of the rule. Local preparations and special arrangementsthrough police help avoid the essential for composite legal reform. According to the NIDA Blog Team, published in the year of 2015, not everybody deliberates damage decrease stays a noble knowledge. Many people reason annoying towards make usage of drug safer is fair a technique toward help drugs somewhat than preserve people after drug by them overall. Through making him a tiny minute harmless, they roughly, if you remain given publics the green bright towards drive fast also prepare something which might injury them. Insufficient would claim against the clue that knowledge counting a person significant whats actually now the dust they accepted by a recital is continual ly well than unawareness. Then we do not recognize exactly how abundant information truly inspirations persons towards change sequence when they catch out they became swindled. Does definition out they've accepted keep people from taking the creation they just paid money to acquire? Similarly we dont recognize if these impairment reduction plans have prohibited any overdoes or deaths, or if someone has been likely to take drugs when people know an assistance position is to support if something drives wrong. Besides, the article explains in detail how the social security system operates. The social security system works in such a way that when individuals are working, they are mandated to pay taxes into the system so that the money can be used to benefit various people in the society. Such people include retired individuals, physically challenged people, individuals who depend on the beneficiaries and survivors of employees who have succumbed to death (Social Security Administration, 2016). The good thing with social security is that any person is eligible as long as he/she is working and capable of paying taxes into the system. Kaiser Family Foundation: Medicare at a Glance The above article provides a detailed analysis of Medicare so that readers can comprehend how it works and its structures formation. The article starts by defining Medicare so that readers can understand the content of the paper. For instance, as a federal health insurance program, Medicare was established in 1965 to help individuals aged 65 and above, irrespective of their medical history or income (Fact Sheet, 2014). Apart from the definition, the article also provides the structure of the Medicare program including Part A, B, C, D and the group of people and services it covers. Part A of the Medicare program comprises of hospice care, home health visits and skilled nursing facility stays. Part B of the Medicare covers home health visits, preventive services, outpatient services, and physician services. However, those who are entitled to these benefits are subjected to cost sharing and to deductibles (Fact Sheet, 2014). Part C, on the other hand, provides individuals with an opport unity to register for a private health plan including Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). Once individuals are registered with these private health plans, they are automatically entitled to benefits that Medicare covers in Part A and Part B including Part D benefits. Some of the benefits that Part D offers patients with include outpatient prescription drugs, including Medicare Advantage drug plans and stand-alone prescription drug plans (Kolber, 2009). However, enrollment in this program is voluntary whereby individuals are mandated to pay monthly fees and for prescriptions, cost sharing is encouraged. The program also provides beneficiaries, to be precise those with modest assets and low incomes, with financial assistance. Despite the benefits that Medicare provides to its enrollees, it faces various challenges. Some of these challenges include increasing out-of-pocket costs, increased spending resulting in other programs being affected such as education, defense, environmental protection, and health and safety (PBS, 2010). Regardless of the challenges, Medicare needs to be improved and strengthened because it is enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. Through the Affordable Care Act, a majority of Americans can access quality and affordable care. References Fact Sheet. (2014). Medicare at a Glance.
